Elizabeth Agnes “Betty” (Donald) Victory, age 97, of Stamford, CT and Lake DeVenoge, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Betty was a devoted wife to John J. Victory who predeceased her in 2019, and a beloved mom, grandma, and great grandma.

Betty will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to family. She is survived by her seven children: Robert (Amparo), William (Agnes), Donald (Joyce), John Owen (Meg), Margaret Miller (Richard), Carol O'Reilly (Cyril), and Thomas (Mary). Betty’s 20 grandchildren, who have fond memories of “Cousins’ Camp” at their grandparents’ lake house: Karen Wilson (Ricky) & Bobby; James & Allison; Steven (Ashley), Daniel (Hailey), Melissa Victory Brodman (Matt) & Kathryn; Caitlin Cai (Kevin), Eileen Hart (Owen) & Sean; Elizabeth Twardowski (Ryan) & Ricky Miller; Sarah & Ciara O'Reilly; Meaghan, Rachel, Nicole, Shannon & TJ. Betty was also blessed with nine precious great-grandchildren: Lucas & Eli Wilson; John & Bonnie Victory; Felicity, Josephine, & Amelia Brodman; and Quincy & Adeline Hart; plus sister-in-laws Faith Victory and Carol Donald; and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by her siblings: Margaret Lindner, Joan Pedian, and Henry Donald Jr.

Betty was raised by her loving parents Henry and Margaret (Regan) Donald in Inwood, Long Island, attended Lawrence High School, then entered a New York Telephone Company program in Receivables, where she rose to Supervisor. On her wedding day in 1954, Betty rode in a firetruck, dressed in a church basement, and appeared radiant at the altar for John while Hurricane Edna was smashing Long Island. Betty then chose a most fulfilling career as a Mom. Later she worked with her husband at John J. Victory Inc., and her son Robert (Bob) at Stamford Restaurant Supply.

In the community, Betty sang as a young adult in the choir at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (Inwood), served on the parish councils of both Our Lady Star of the Sea and St. Benedict’s RC Churches (Stamford); the Parents Associations of Our Lady Star of the Sea School, St. Basil's Prep and Sacred Heart Academy; and the Senior’s Association at St. Benedict’s. For recreation, she participated in bowling leagues and often rolled over 200.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, December 21, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will be leaving Cognetta on Monday, December 22, at 10:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 1200 Shippan Ave, Stamford. Interment will follow in the family plot at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, Long Island.
