Elizabeth “Betty” Burbank, 90, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Betty was born in Manhattan, NY on February 26, 1935 to the late John and Agnes Mele Burbank.

Betty was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to travel, laugh and make new friends. She loved the beach, ice skating, tobogganing and cookies.

Betty graduated from Walton High School in 1953, and went to work for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in NYC. After a 35-year career, she retired so she could take care of her mom, Agnes. They traveled, laughed, and spent time with family and friends. She had a big heart and would do whatever she could to help others. Everyone she met became her friend.

She is survived by her sister Arline, nephews Daniel (wife Corinne) and David (wife Angela) and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She also had many dear friends that she considered family.

A special thank you to all her caregivers (Eleni, Frankie, Laura, Yolanda, Viola) who enabled her to stay in the comfort of her own home during the last few years of her wonderful life.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Jack Burbank and Brian Burbank, and her brother-in-law Daniel (Williams).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Betty and her brother Jack on Wednesday 27, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Inurnment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours.
