Elizabeth Drovy
July 5, 1927 — March 2, 2009
Elizabeth Drovy, 81, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Sunrise of Stamford. Born July 5, 1927 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Elizabeth Milko Kolesar.
Elizabeth was a retired bookkeeper for the Scarsdale, NY School System for twenty five years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to bake, sew and dance. She participated as class mother and in the PTA throughout her life. The staff and residents of Sunrise Assisted Living all admired and loved her.
She is survived by three daughters: Debbie Connolly and her husband Mike of NY; Karen Tenenbaum and her husband Marty of NY; and Denise Thomas of CT; and a sister, Lillian Sansone. Grandchildren: Michael Connolly, Stacey and Tony Butler, Andy and Jenny Tenenbaum, Douglas and Elizabeth Tenenbaum, Gerry Tenenbaum, and Kyle and Nicholas Thomas, also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert (Ike) Drovy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 6 at St. John the Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to the Alzheimer Association, 10 Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06850.
