Elizabeth Mary Golowienko, 88 of Darien, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. Born on June 28, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Peter Larsen and Mary Northington Larsen. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Golowienko in 1999.
Elizabeth was in Geriatric Nursing for many years in private duty and for various convalescent homes.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth B. Linck of Arizona; her granddaughter, Barbara Durfee of Pennsylvania; and her great grandson, Andrew Durfee of Pennsylvania.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 9:10AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. John’s RC Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 5:00-7:00PM.
