Elizabeth “Bette” Zezima passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 just 20 days shy of her 97th birthday. She was the cherished wife of the late Michael Zezima for over 50 years, beloved mother of Janet (Ron) Stolle of Hudson and Michael Zezima, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, and the beloved sister of Mary Pataky of Nashville, TN. In addition, she is survived by her grandson, Matthew (Susan) Spillman of Overland Park, KS and two great-grandchildren who shared this Christmas with her. Bette is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, and many friends in Connecticut, Florida and Ohio.
Born in Greenwich, CT, Bette was the daughter of Francesca Rosa Fornaciari and Luis Celso. She grew up and resided in Stamford, CT for most of her life. For many years, Bette and Mike were “snowbirds” with dual residences in Stamford and Boynton Beach, FL until Bette became a resident of Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson. Bette was a beautiful, fashionable woman and an avid golfer. Among her proudest achievements beyond her family were many golfing awards at both Quail Ridge CC in Florida and Tamarack CC in Greenwich where she won a Club Championship. In her younger days she did volunteer work and was a scout leader.
Until very recently, Bette lived independently in her immaculately kept apartment at Laurel Lake. She was always gracious, kind and positive to everyone. She will be dearly missed.
