Ellen Kronberg

Ellen J. Kronberg, 79, of Darien passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on May 1, 2013, where she resided the last four years of her life. Ellen was born May 6, 1933 in Nassau, Bahamas to the late Kenneth and Meriel Niely Saunders. In her younger years she took pleasure in modeling and also enjoyed singing and was an accomplished painter, as well as an avid tennis player.
Ellen is survived by her two sons; Kenneth V. Kronberg and his wife Helene of Weston, Victor G. Kronberg and his wife Sarah of Norwalk, her daughter Nicole K. Bernardo of Darien, four sisters; Norma, Margaret, Diane and Barbara and two brothers; Charles and Bill Saunders. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Besides her parents, Ellen is predeceased by her brother Daniel Saunders.
There will be no calling hours and interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT is honored to assist the Kronberg family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ellen’s name to the Alzheimer Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
