Ellie Massos of 75 Vincent Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut passed away to the Lord on Saturday December 19. She was 90 years old. The Trisagion memorial service and funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 22nd, at Archangels Church in Stamford, CT.
Ellie was born February 28, 1930 in the village of Kolloni on the island of Lesvos, Greece to her parents, Elias and Victoria Sellas. She had four brothers, Mihalis, Dimitrios, Angelos, and Vasilios. During the school year she lived with her cousin Zoe and their Thea Kleanthis and Theo Othon in Mytilene, Lesvos. She married James Massos, of blessed memory, of Stamford, CT in 1955 in Athens, Greece. Ellie is survived by her three son’s James, his wife Mary and their son Christopher; Bill, his wife Andrea and their two son’s Zachary and Aristotle; and Peter, and his wife Maria.
Ellie worked for many years as a seamstress at Ethel Allen and Bloomingdales. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and cooking. She loved hosting holidays and gatherings at her house where there was always room for one more at the table.
She was deeply loved, admired, and respected by her family and friends. May her memory be eternal!
Family and friends may offer their sympathy and condolences to Ellie’s family on Tuesday, December 22nd, from 10am to 11am, at Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 1527 Bedford St., Stamford, CT 06905, with the funeral service beginning immediately after at 11am.
