Emilio E. Esposito, 92, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Courtland Gardens in Stamford. Born January 3, 1917, he was the son of the late Edward and Rose Esposito.
Emilio was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII as CPL. He loved dancing the Yankees and boxing. He followed all of the Stamford youth sports, also. Emilio was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather and uncle. He was an employee of Peabody Engineering of Stamford for thirty years until his retirement.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Rick Esposito of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Debra L. Alonzi of Stamford; a grandson, Bobby Alonzi of Stamford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to is parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Singer Esposito; six brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, January 28 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:50 AM on Thursday, January 29 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien.
