Emilio A. Lupinacci, Jr., 83, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Smith House. He was born on June 3, 1931 in Stamford to the late Emilio and Frances Arcario Lupinacci.
Emilio was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the US Navy. He was employed at Machlett Labs for thirty years before retiring in 1986 and then from 1987 -1997 he was employed with Marsh and McLennan. Emilio was also an employee at the New Canaan YMCA. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Choir of St. Mary’s RC Church of Stamford for many years. He was a member of Knights of Colombus Council #41 and coached many Federal Little League teams . He was also an avid golfer and was a bartender at the Italian Center in Stamford.
He is survived by his loving children, Marybeth Torelli and her husband Louis of Stamford, Stephen Lupinacci and his wife Valerie of Shelton, CT, Thomas Lupinacci and his wife Jennifer of Stamford, nine grandchildren Valerie, Paula, Louis, Christine, Matthew, Justin, Elizabeth, Abigail and Charlotte. Also surviving are three great grandchildren Daniel, Emma and Mason, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Emilio was predeceased by his wife Barbara Moavero Lupinacci, a daughter Susan Cassidy, two sisters, Gloria Hudon, Ann Altieri and two brothers, Eugene and Bernard Lupinacci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. There will be no calling hours.
