Emily F. Kirchner, 86, a proud resident of fifty four years in Old Greenwich, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Emily was born on June 20, 1929 in Munich, Germany to the late Otto and Kreszentia Vogl Gagel.
Emily was an avid reader who loved to swim and spend time at Tod’s Point. She was a former employee of the Clam Box in Cos Cob. She worked with her husband as co-owners of the Heidelberg Restaurant on Atlantic Street in Stamford for many years and later at the Atlantic Meat Market on Hope Street as well as being a dedicated homemaker.
Emily is survived by her two daughters, Bernice M. Wilson of Southport, CT and Doris Kirchner-Kenny of Sewickley, PA, her son Steven A. Kirchner and his wife Laura of Ridgefield, CT and her seven grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Emily is predeceased by her loving husband Karl G. Kirchner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 4 Riverside Avenue, Riverside, CT on Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road, Greenwich, CT. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the Kirchner family with the arrangements.
