Emma Deluca

Emma C. DeLuca, 84, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Waveny Health Care, New Canaan. She was born on February 25, 1931 in San Mango Sul Calore, Avelino, Italy to the late Salvatore and Carmela Coppola Fiordelisi.
Emma was involved for many years with various bowling leagues, tennis teams and the Italian Center Women’s Auxillary of Stamford.
She is survived by her loving children Michael DeLuca of Stamford, Richard DeLuca and his wife Susan of Georgia, Linda Scalero and her husband Daniel of Stamford, a sister Cleo Calo and her husband Vito of Stamford, a brother Salvatore Fiordelisi and his wife Ginny of Fairfield, six grandchildren Nicole, Alex, Kyle and Samantha DeLuca and Emma and Stephen Scalero, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Emma was also predeceased by her husband Gene DeLuca, brothers Joseph and Ted Fiordelisi and a sister Louisa Fiordelisi.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 9:30-11:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Emma’s memory to Waveny Health Care Center, 3 Farm Road, New Canaan, CT 06840 or to a charity of one’s choice.
The DeLuca family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at Waveny Health Care Center and the Constellation Hospice for the care and devotion they gave their mother during her stay.
