Enrico Imbrogno, Sr., 84, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2016, at the Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Enrico was born in Rosé, Italy on September 3, 1931 to the late Rocco and Angelina Longo Imbrogno.
Rico immigrated to the United States in 1957. He loved this country and was extremely proud when he became an American citizen. He was deeply dedicated to his wife Maria and his family, and the time spent with his children and grandchildren brought him much joy. He enjoyed visiting with all his family and friends; was an avid gardener and loved making wine. Rico was a very giving and generous man, if anyone needed anything he would be the first to help. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Saint John Roman Catholic Church for over 60 years. He was a self-employed Mason Contractor, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5833, rising up to a fourth degree Knight, the Figli di Rosé Society and the Men’s Bocce League at Scalzi Park.
Enrico is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maria Docimo Imbrogno, his children, Angelina Lucherini and Richard Lucherini of Stamford, Enrico Imbrogno, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Stamford, Rita Cormier and her husband Alain of Stamford and Mario Imbrogno and his wife Denise of Norwalk, his grandchildren, Richard Lucherini Jr., Samantha Lucherini, Gabrielle Cormier, Carly Imbrogno, Nicolas Cormier, Sabrina Imbrogno, Cole Imbrogno and Sofia Imbrogno. Also surviving are his sisters Luisa Imbrogno, Rose Cardillo, and his brother Carmine Imbrogno, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings Aquilino, Luigi, Mario, Camillo, Armando and Rita Imbrogno.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT at 10:00AM. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, North Street, Greenwich, CT. There will be no calling hours. The family will receive condolences following Mass. The Nicholas F.
