Esterina Crocco
October 24, 1921 — January 28, 2014
Esterina Stella Crocco, 92, Stamford passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 28, 2014 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Esterina was born in Luzzi, Italy on October 24, 1921 to the late Eugenio and Maria Fazio Bevacqua. Esterina was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society for over fifty years and she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and cooking for her family.
Esterina is survived by her daughter Michele M. Crocco of Stamford, her son Michael Crocco Jr. and his wife Rita of Stamford, her sister Elvira DiFino of Italy, three grandchildren, Michael III, Tony and Tina and her sister-in-law Enrichetta Crocco, of Stamford. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and step- great, great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Esterina is predeceased by her loving husband Michael M. Crocco, Sr. her two step-daughters, Anna Telesco Agostino and Sylvia Serafino and her step-son Gerald Crocco.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Saturday February 1, 2014 at 9:20AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday January 31, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
