Eugene Buzzeo
February 2, 1941 — September 26, 2009
Eugene M. Buzzeo, age 68, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long illness on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Gene was born February 2, 1941 in Stamford. He was the son of the late Evangelista “Angelo” and Theresa “Tessie” Maria Terenzio Buzzeo.
Gene was known as “Big Buzz” to all his students, and was Department Head of the Graphics Department at his Alma Mater, J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford, for over thirty years. He was a one of a kind, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, teacher and friend.
He is survived by his wife of forty six years, Grace Ann Delfino Buzzeo; their son, Daniel Buzzeo and his wife Tonia; and two grandchildren, Evan and Gianna Buzzeo. He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria DeCarlo and Joan Leffler.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Louis Buzzeo. Gene was well known for his generosity, kindness, and selfless love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. A special thank you to the staff of Stamford Hospital and Stamford Hospice for their loving care, as well as his long time physician, Dr. Alan Falkoff of High Ridge Family Practice.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, September 30 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:40 AM on Thursday, October 1 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 10:30 AM with Rev. Tufaro officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Stamford Hospital Foundation, 1351 Washington Blvd., Suite 202, Stamford, CT 06902.
