Eugene Schiavone

Eugene Schiavone, 82, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2009. Born in Bronx, NY on November 7, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Julia Drace Schiavone.
Eugene is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Bettyann & Thomas DeMayo, of Danbury, Valerie & Gary Basciano of New Canaan, Georgiana & Joseph Boiano of Stamford, and Jean Marie & Jerry Thompson of Glenwood, NJ; a sister, Julia Inglese of Bronx, NY; his former wife Ann Martire of Stamford; seven grandchildren, Kristyn DeMayo, Gary Jr. & Vito Basciano, John, Allison & Megan Boiano and Devin Thompson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore Schiavone; a sister, Marie Schiavone, and two dogs, Ben & Joey.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 4-8 PM.
A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Monday, January 26, and proceed to St. Leos Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
