Eugenia Stavrianos ,85, also lovingly known as Virginia of Stamford passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Sparta, Greece on February 26, 1936 to the late Christos and Dimitra Aliferi Psychopeda.
Eugenia was employed at Pitney Bowes as a Machinist before her retiring. She was devoted to her Church and was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Eugenia was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Stavrianos and her loving sons, Chris Stavrianos and his wife Dulce of Norwalk and Dimitrios Stavrianos and his wife Angeliki of Stratford, as well as her grandchildren, Stelios, Eugenia, Christian, Justin and Dafni. Also surviving are her two sisters, Helen Mazarakos and Patricia Psychopeda and their families.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by siblings, Niki Skiadas and Peter Psychopedas.
Family and friends may call at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service to be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford.
