Eva I. Peterson

Eva (Eve) I. Peterson, 90, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Eve was born in Stamford on February 17, 1936 to the late Fred W. and Eva May States Case.

Eve was a graduate of Stamford High School class of 1954. Prior to her retirement, she worked in an administrative capacity at numerous offices in Stamford, including Rippowam Animal Hospital, Long Ridge Office Park and GE. Eve enjoyed dancing and was a participant in the Harvest Moon Ball In NYC. Eve was an enthusiastic gardener and loved nature and animals, especially her beloved cats.

Eve is survived by her loving husband James M. Peterson, of Stamford, her cousins William Bassar and his spouse Debby Lione, of Norwalk, Sandy Girardi and her spouse Victor, of Florida and Cynthia Knaus and her spouse David, of Stamford.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, April 14 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Erskine Road, Stamford.
