Felix Trimboli
April 25, 1926 — February 14, 2016
Felix J. Trimboli, 89, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Trimboli was born on April 25, 1926, the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Scutti Trimboli.
Felix attended Rogers School and St. Basil Prep. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Seaman First Class aboard the USS Springfield (CL66). His commendations during two years of active duty included the Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal–2 stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Upon honorable discharge from the service in 1946, Mr. Trimboli began a twenty plus year career in the motion picture and television industries. As a member of the International Photographers of the Motion Picture Industries Local 644, under the umbrella of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.) Local 133, he worked as a cinematographer, filming movies and television programs nationally and internationally. He later became a union movie projectionist, working at a number of local theatres. His final position prior to retirement was as a master carpenter at the Darien Dinner Theatre. Throughout his professional career, he pursued his hobby of still photography, shooting many pictures of family and friends.
Felix is survived by his son, Joseph F. Trimboli, his daughter, Susan T. Wolff (Paul), his brother Robert N. Trimboli, (Elsie), as well as two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Tiscia (Leonard), and Audrey Cosentini (Peter–deceased). He is also survived by a number of nieces, including Jennifer and Roseanna Trimboli, Carol McDonald (Steve), Ann Longo, Cathy Bonzcek (John), and Caryn Maida (Joseph), and two nephews, Leonard Tiscia Jr. (Mary), and Gary Tiscia (Dawn).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Trimboli was predeceased by his wife Lois Aliterno Trimboli, and his sister-in-law, Eleanor Genovese (James-deceased).
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT, on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 8:15AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 9:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
