Fermin Perez, Jr., 51, formerly of Greenwich, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Norwalk Hospital. Born September 16, 1957 in Port Chester, NY, he is the son of Fermin Perez, Sr. of Puerto Rico and the late Victoria Pietrafeso Herrera.
Fermin was a chef for several Italian restaurants. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a loving father and grandfather who was affectionately known as �"The lollipop man. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Europe. He was raised n Greenwich most of his life and went through the Greenwich Public School system.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Sarah Perez of Clifton, NJ; his son, Anthony Perez of Greenwich; his daughter, Amanda Perez of Shelton; a sister, Gloria Marroquin of Greenwich; an aunt, Frances Fraioli of Mamaroneck, NY; and two grandchildren, Richard J. Oliva, III and Alia Manna. Three nephews, Michael and Joseph Larriuz and Duane Marranca; and several cousins and great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Friends and family may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, October 24 from 4:00 8:00 PM with a prayer service being held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Nicholas Calabro officiating. Interment will be private.
