Florence Giagnorio Amodio, 86 of Stamford passed away with her family lovingly by her side on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
Born in Bridgeport on February 25, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Jenny Scinto Giagnorio.
She was a wonderfully loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was also an exceptional seamstress, and in her later years she worked as a sales associate at Lord & Taylor of Stamford from 1979 �" 1992. Mrs. Amodio is survived by her two daughters, Linda Valente and her husband Richard of Stamford, Carol Stella and her husband Michael of Madison, CT, and a son Dr. Richard Amodio and his wife Dominica of Bedford, MA; four grandchildren: Dayna Royster, Christopher Stella , Lauren Valente and Jadon Ray Amodio, eight great grandchildren also survive. A sister, Lucy Rachinsky of Stamford, also survives.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ralph E. Amodio and a brother John Giagnorio.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 9:50 AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM . Entombment will follow at St. John’s
Mausoleum, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from
1-5 PM.
