Florence Kapusta, 89, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 14, 2012. Born in Stamford on July 15, 1923 to the late Frank and Lucy Lacerenza Martinelli.
Florence married her childhood sweetheart in 1942 of which they had many years together and she lived for sixty one years in her home that her husband Edward built. She and her husband Edward founded Clean Well Company in 1958. She will be remembered for her strong devotion and love of family. She had many outside activities such as the Over Sixty Club, where she enjoyed hours of dancing especially line dancing and also a member of AARP and St. Leo’s Senior Group.
She is survived by her loving children, Lucille Murray( Richard) and Richard Kapusta (Ellen); a sister Lucille Cardillo; a brother Frank Martinelli; eight grandchildren Kristine M. Gigliotti (Greg), Melissa K. Francetic( Josip),Scott R. Murray, Todd E. Murray(Stella), Beth K. Welsh, Edward “Jason” Kapusta( Kim), Richard E. Kapusta, Jr. (Mary) and Andrew P. Kapusta; seven great grandchildren Sage Murray, Griffin Gigliotti, Sydney Gigliotti, Sean Welsh, Joey Francetic, Maeve Welsh and Kallie Murray.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Edward F. Kapusta, her loving son Edward Kapusta and sisters Anna Rita Martinelli, Mildred Bianco, Betty Benvenuto, a brother Robin Merritt and step mother Louise Martinelli.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Florence’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714, 100 percent of the donations goes directly to Research for Pancreatic Cancer.
