Frances C. McKaige, 88, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Friday June 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born in Greenwich, CT on May 19, 1928 to the late Francis and Elizabeth Kennedy Clement.
Frances was a crossing guard at Roger’s School for twenty years, she was involved in the Roscoe after school program and helped to establish it at Roger’s School. In her later years, she worked at Life Study Fellowship Foundation in Noroton for over twenty-five years.
Frances is survived by her three daughters; Elizabeth D. Galaz and her husband August of Stamford, Gail Mattiello and her husband Joseph of Norwalk and Nancy Granata and her husband John of Norwalk, her son; Stuart McKaige and his wife Betsy of Bristol, along with her fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and her sister Cathy Adams of Florida.
Besides her parents, Frances is predeceased by her loving husband Stuart McKaige, her sister Elizabeth Lee and her brother-in-law Richard Lee.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT at 10:10AM on Saturday June 18, 2016 and proceed to St. Leo’s RC Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday June 17, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Frances’ memory to Leo Zoological Conservation Center, 404 Taconic Road, Greenwich, CT 066831.
