Francesca Sheehan
February 18, 1929 — February 5, 2017
Francesca C. Sheehan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 87. Francesca was born February 18, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Rosaria Bicchinella Fontana.
Francesca was a former employee of General Electric Corporation having held the position of Executive Secretary for many years.
Francesca is survived by her loving son James W. & wife Chris Sheehan of Stamford, loving daughters Kathleen Horowitz of Cranbury, NJ, Carolyn and husband Richard Gavila of East Winger, NJ. Her brothers Anthony Fontana of PA., and Salvatore and his wife Jean Fontana of LI. Also surviving are two grandsons Michael and Stephen Sheehan, and granddaughters Elizabeth and Victoria Gavila.
Besides her parents, Francesca is predeceased by her beloved husband William J. Sheehan, along with her three sisters Mildred D’Amato, Mary Montemarand, & Josephine Tarone.
Family and friends may visit at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Cecilia’s, 1148 Newfield Ave., Stamford, on Monday, February 13th,2017 at 11:00AM. Interment will be privately held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s research hospital. See link on Donations
