Frank J. Agostino, 90, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Stamford on January 8, 1928 to the late Dominic Agostino and Marie Viggiano Agostino.
Frank was a graduate of Stamford High School,” Class of 1945”. Frank was a WW II veteran having served in the US Navy. He was employed as a General Manager at Chrysler Corporation in the Brooklyn, NY area, then going to Shields Stock Brokerage Firm and then to Merrill Lynch where he retired as Senior Vice President at the age of sixty two. Frank enjoyed a long fulfilling retirement and traveled the world extensively.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Leslie Agostino, a daughter in law, Barbara Agostino, a grandson, Matthew Agostino and a granddaughter, Caroline Agostino, all of Jacksonville, FL, as well as his brother, Richard Agostino and his wife Patricia of Stamford and his sister Marie Maloney.
Besides his parents, Frank is also predeceased by his wife Margaret Foster Agostino, his sons, Mark and John Agostino, a brother Dominic Agostino and his wife Ruth and his sister, Elizabeth Coughlin and her husband John, and a brother in law William Maloney.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, April 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
