Frank Grabowski, 88, of Stamford went to eternal peace surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Stamford Hospital.
He was born in Stamford on January 11, 1928 to the late Stanley and Frances (Stawicki) Grabowski, Frank was a lifelong resident of Stamford and Norwalk. A gregarious and outgoing personality, Frank spent his career as dedicated employee of Pitney Bowes Corporation, retiring in 1990 after 45 years of service.
Frank was a veteran of the US Army, serving stateside during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and an active member (and very popular bartender) of the American Legion post in Norwalk.
He is survived by his brother John Grabowski, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, sister Stella Savino of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter Lori Florio of Long Island City, NY, son Ken of Westminster, SC, a longtime life partner Helga Manjuck of Stamford and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sisters Helen, Wanda, Anna, Pauline, and brothers Edward and George.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
