Frank Milan Halama, 96, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Plymouth, CT on April 12, 1920 to the late Michael and Elizabeth Lalinsky Halama.
Frank was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a sheet metal worker and a member of the Local 38. Frank was also an NRA Instructor at the Rippowam Rifle Club.
Frank is survived by his children, Jeffery Halama of California, Glen Halama of Stamford and Lisa Vento of Stamford, his sisters Emily Cozens of Massachusetts and Ann “Babe” DiCerbo of Madison, CT, his grandchildren, Chris Vento of Stamford, Corey Vento and his wife Cookie of Stamford, and Glen Halama, Jr. of Connecticut, and his two great-grandchildren, Corey Jr. and Christian.
Besides his parents, Frank is predeceased by his wife Beverly Walker Halama and his brother Michael Halama.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM, with a service to be held at 7:30PM. Entombment at St. John’s RC Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien, will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Frank’s name to the American Legion of Porterville, CA; 1900 W. Olive Avenue, Porterville, CA 93257.
