Franklin Anderson

Franklin Roosevelt Anderson, 76, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Stamford. Born March 4, 1933 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Elizabeth Burke Anderson.
A true American patriot, Franklin was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army. He worked and retired from Metro-North Railroad. His hobbies included collecting model cars and was an accomplished sign artist.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Franklin is survived by his wife, Sandra Schmaling Anderson; his children, Donald Anderson of Florida, John Anderson of Virginia, Carl Anderson of Georgia, Rowena Hutchins of Georgia, Lorena Struze of Florida, Alfred “Freddy” Anderson of Stamford and Elsa Anderson of Stratford; and his grandchildren, Adrianna Hickey, T.J., Chase, Sarah and Jeanette Hutchins, Lois Anderson, George and Arthur Anderson and Tyler Struze, as well as great grandchildren. His brother Eugene Arthur Anderson of Stamford, also survives.
Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Carl William Anderson, John “Jack” Anderson, Evelyn Hadsell and Jerome Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
