Frederick L. Nichols, Jr.
June 23, 1930 — June 28, 2007
Frederick L. Nichols, Jr., 77, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Stamford Hospital. Born June 23, 1930 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Frederick L. Sr. and Elizabeth Russo Nichols.
Frederick was a retired custodian for the Town of Darien. Prior to that, he was a former employee for Electrolux of Greenwich. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard having served in the Korean War as a Corporal from 1947-1951 in the 192nd Field Artillery. He was the past president of the Eastside Cardinals Club and was a member of the Eagles and Elks Clubs. Frederick was an avid softball player and also had a passion for tag sales.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Nichols of Stamford; and Diane Nichols Miller and her husband Fred Miller of Michigan; a sister, Elizabeth Andriunas of Stamford; two brothers, Richard Nichols of Darien; and Donald Nichols of Florida; two granddaughters, Emily Ann Miller and Elizabeth Nichols Miller; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, July 1, 2007 from 3:00 5:00 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Arthur Mollenhauer officiating. Interment will be private.
