Frederick Rovegno
April 27, 1926 — July 28, 2017
Frederick J Rovegno, a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT, passed away at the age of 91 on July 28, 2017. He was born on April 27, 1926 and was the son of the late John Rovegno and Mary Musante Rovegno.
Fred was educated in Stamford, was a proud Korean War Veteran and was employed at the Stamford Post Office for over 30 years . He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching the NY Mets. He also enjoyed senior citizen trips and hanging out with his many friends smoking cigars.
He is survived by his wife Raffaela Tarzia Rovegno and his children, John Rovegno and his wife, Karen, Richard Rovegno ,Geoffrey Rovegno and his wife Theresa, all of Stamford, CT, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday morning, August 4, 2017 from 9:00-10:30 AM with a procession leaving at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace RC Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
