George Joseph Brown, 85, of Darien passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016. He was born on February 15, 1931 in White Plains, NY to the late George W. and Emily M. Bleakley Brown.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marie Bianco Brown of Darien, his loving children, Mark C. Brown of New Canaan and Sharon M. Brown of Darien, as well as his nieces and nephew, Janice, Christine, Mary and Peter and their families.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Fagan.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George’s memory to the VA Medical Center, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516 or to Post #53 of Darien, 50 Ledge Road, Darien, CT 06820 or to the American Heart Association, CT Chapter, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
