George Gjuraj

George G. Gjuraj, 27, of Stamford, passed to eternal life on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Born on April 25, 1983 in the Bronx, New York, he is the son of Tony and Flora Soukaras Gjuraj, both of Stamford.
George is a U.S. Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served two tours, one of which as Head Non-Commission Officer during convoys throughout Iraq from 2004-2005 and again from 2006-2007. He was a Nuclear Biological Chemical Specialist for the US Army Reserve.
In addition to his parents, George is also survived by his two brothers, Angel Gjuraj and Paul Gjuraj and his wife Yolanda; three sisters, Jane, Michelle and Lydia Gjuraj; and one nephew, Joseph R. Lorenti, all of Stamford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, August 23, 2010 at St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 2:00-5:00PM.
