George Albert Valentine, 95, died on Wednesday May 10, 2006 at his home in Stamford. Born on June 1, 1910 in Ottawa Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late McGill and Albertine Morency Valentine.
He was employed at McCalls Magazine as a photoengraver, and upon their closing was an employee at Bloomingdales until 1990. He was an amateur filmmaker having won numerous awards, including an honorable mention award from the Cannes Amateur Film Festival. He enjoyed music, had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed the friendship and laughter of his neighbors and friends. He was a wonderful dad.
He is survived by his children, McGill Valentine, Audrey Telhiard, Evelyn Valentine, and Gary Valentine; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Helen Robertson Valentine who died on January 18, 1938 and his second wife, Eva Robertson Valentine who died on June 7, 1985, and several brothers and sisters.
