George A. Vanech 89, entered into eternal rest Wednesday April 30, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born in Stamford Sept. 30, 1918, he was a member of the Church of the Archangels, and was the son of the late Anthony and Marigo Vanech. He was called �"Mr. Safety by many of his fellow employees at Clairol for many years. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Vanech.
He is survived by a son Anthony Vanech and his wife Gail of Fairfield, a daughter Sandra Wyman and her husband Jim of Zeyphrhills, Florida, a daughter Evelyn Boldrighini and her husband Dr. Richard Boldrighini of Stamford, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents and his wife he was predeceased by a brother Ted Vanech and a sister Bertha Vanech.
The family will receive friends from 8:00 AM on Sat. May 3, 2008 at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford, where a Funeral Service will be held at 8:30 AM with the Rev. George Poulos, Pastor of the Church of the Archangels officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Oaklawn Ave., Stamford.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home Friday May 2, 2009 (Today) from 4-8 PM.
