Georgia Vouthounis

Georgia Vouthounis, 84, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York surrounded by her loving family. Georgia was born in Platana, Greece on August 4, 1933 to the late Anastasios and Venetia Tzaras Nestoras.
She is survived by her daughter Harriet Ardavanis and her husband Dennis, sisters Panagiota Papageorgiou, and Eleni Vallas. She is also survived by her brother, John Nestoras, grandchildren Georgia Lembesis, Costas Vouthounis, Hellen Horiatis, Spiro Ardavanis, Kostas Ardavanis, and daughter in-law Eleftheria “Nitsa” Vouthounis, as well as one great granddaughter.
Besides her parents, Georgia was predeceased by her husband Costas P. Vouthounis, sons Panagiotis and Anastasios Vouthounis, as well as her brother Sarantos Nestoras.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:10 A.M. for a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow immediately at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford, CT. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Trisagion service to be held at 7:00 P.M.
