Giancarlo Pirolozzi, 52, of Stamford, passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family at Norwalk Hospital on Saturday November 23, 2013. Giancarlo was born in Minturno, Italy to Lina Alicandro Pirolozzi and the late Gennaro Pirolozzi.
Giancarlo served in the Italian Marines before coming to the United States and settling in Stamford. He was an active member of the Minturnese Social Club in Stamford, which he attended three days a week. He was an avid Bocce player and enjoyed hosting parties at his home for his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Monica Maria Pirolozzi of Stamford and his loving mother Lina Alicandro Pirolozzzi of Minturno, Italy, a daughter Daniela Borruso and her husband Michael of Brooklyn, NY, his son Alex Pirolozzi of Stamford, step daughter Natalia Lozado of Stamford, a brother Vittorio Pirolozzi and his wife Teresa of Stamford. He is also survived by his second loving family the Pensiero’s and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his father Gennaro Pirolozzi, Giancarlo was also predeceased by his brother Pasquale Pirolozzi.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuseday, November 26, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
