Gianni “Bello” Gabriele DiTeodoro, age 4 of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from complications of pneumonia. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Stamford on December 7, 2005, he was the youngest son of Amy Gabriele DiTeodoro and Jack V. DiTeodoro, M.D.
Gianni was a student of Brookdale Nursery School and loved his family, teachers and friends. In 2007, at 18 months old, he was a successful kidney transplant recipient, after which he lived an exuberant life, savoring everything around him, both big and small. Gianni was filled with love, vibrancy and an extraordinary joy of life which he shared with everyone he met. He enjoyed visits to Disney World, Italy, Turks and Caicos and lots of beaches in between. Mostly he enjoyed everyday spent with his family and his friends. He left his own special mark on those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Gianni is survived by his siblings, Vincent and Andrea DiTeodoro; his maternal grandparents, Antonia and Giovanni Gabriele; his maternal great-grandparents, Emilia and Teodoro Guarino, all of Stamford; his Aunts and Uncles, Rose and Jim Tobin of Florida, JoAnn and Sal Latorraca of Stamford and Sandra Gabriele of New York City; cousins, Jeanette, Josh and Patrick Welch of Indiana, Bruce and Nicole McFarlane of Stamford, Steven, Adam, Jesse and Bryan Latorraca of Stamford and Michael Tobin of Florida.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Angelina DiTeodoro.
A procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 9:10AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Rd, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
