Giuseppe Zappia

Giuseppe Zappia, 98, died on Friday, November 9, 2007 at Stamford Hospital. Born December 19, 1908 in Cirella, Italy, Provincia Di Reggio Calabria, he was the son of the late Carlo and Maria Mantegna Zappia.
Giuseppe was a retired employee of Bunker Remo.
He is survived by two sons, Rocco Zappia and his wife Maria of Stamford; and Carlo Zappia and his wife Fernanda of Pawling, NY; and a daughter, Maria Zappia-DiMarzio of Montreal, Canada. Two sisters, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Maria Rosa Caruso Zappia; two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 2:00 5:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 8:40 AM on Monday, November 12, 2007 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM.
