Gloria Philomena Rosa

Gloria Philomena Rosa, 97, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, just shy of her 98th birthday. Gloria was born on September 26, 1928, in Stamford Connecticut, daughter of the late John and Bibiana Capriciulo DiSette.

Gloria was raised in Stamford, Connecticut, but spent the majority of her life in her beloved Westport. A few formative years living in Italy permanently cemented her lifelong passion for everything Italian. While she spent time working prior to marriage, and supporting various family businesses, her true calling was her family. She deeply embraced her role as a devoted wife and mother, famously demonstrating her love through cooking and effortless entertaining. Outside the home, Gloria chased her other great passions: traveling the world, shopping, and basking in the warmth of the sun.

Gloria is survived by her sons Peter A. Rosa, III and his wife Cheryl of TX, and Robert Rosa and his wife Nancy of CT, her daughter Gloria Rosa-Wendelboe and her husband Jens of CT. Gloria is also survived by her sister, Sandra Dagostino of CT, and her four cherished grandchildren, Susanna, Daniel, Alissa and Cassandra, along with her great-grandchildren, Mila, Jaxson and Stetson.

Besides her parents, she is also predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, Peter A. Rosa, her brother John A. DiSette, and her sister Jean Wurtz.

Family and friends may visit at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford, CT, on Monday, September 28, 2026, from at 9 AM to 10 AM, a Funeral mass will be celebrated immediately after calling hours at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Stamford, CT at 10:30 AM. A procession will follow to St. John Cemetery, Darien, where a committal service and interment will be held.
