Grace Polise

Grace M. Polise, 86, of Stamford, formerly of Flushing, NY, passed away on September 24, 2009. Born in New York City on April 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Carmella Sherma Mirenda.
Grace is survived by a daughter, Diana Garra & her husband Joseph of New Canaan; a son, Anthony Polise & his wife Adele of Holliston, MA; a sister, Frances Criscione & her husband Sal of Queens, NY; a sister-in-law, Terry Mirenda of Long Island, NY; five grandchildren, Anthony III, Lauren, Gregory, Kathryn and Joanna; and two great-grandchildren, Leanna and Katelyn.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony V. Polise; and her brother, Al Mirenda.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, September 27 from 2:00 �" 6:00 PM.
A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Monday, September 28, 2009, and proceed to St. Aloysius RC Church, 40 Maple Street, New Canaan, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Long Island.
