Gwendoline A. Dexter, 83, of Greenwich passed away peacefully at home surrounded family and friends on Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born in England on November 18, 1934 to the late Alexander and Edith Hammond Dexter.
Gwen worked at RB&W and Greef Fabrics in Post Chester and Ralston Purina in St. Louis. She was a volunteer ombudsman at Nathaniel Witherell and docent at the NY Botanical Gardens for many years. Her pride and joy was her English Garden at her home where she labored with love.
She is survived by her devoted friend, Audrey Scrutton of Greenwich, her sister Nora Ryder and nephews Nicholas, Stephen and Michael Ryder and nieces Francis Mattocks and Caroline Elliott, all residing in the UK.
Funeral services and Interment will be held privately and there will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the Dexter family with the arrangements.
