Harry Tournas, 91, of Stamford, CT, beloved husband of 64 years to Maria (Tournas) Tournas, passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2016 in Stamford, CT. He was born December 13, 1924, in Agios Konstantinos, Greece, to the late Dionysios and Eleni (Berdenis) Tournas.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his wife Maria, Harry is survived by his two sons, Dennis and wife Kandy of Stamford, Peter and wife Kathy of Stamford, grandchildren, Harry and wife Kiki, Maria, Eleni and husband Chris, Bobby, Maria and husband Paul and Petula. Also great-grandchildren, Katerina and Panos, Alexis and Lucas. He is survived by siblings, Nicolas and Astrini of Greece, brothers-in-law, Efstathios and George of Stamford, several nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Diamantis, Vasiliki, Christos, Constantinos, Nicolaos and Panagiota and brother-in-law Nicholas.
Family and friends may call at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A Trisagion Service will be held during the calling hours at 7 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:15AM and process for a funeral service at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford,CT, to be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford.
