Helen Aloupis, 84, a resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 28, 2014. She was born in Skoura, Greece on March 12, 1930 to the late Leonidas and Panagiota Koumourdas Yonclas.
Helen emigrated from Greece in 1951. She began work at Paper Novelty Co., Yale and Towne and later retired from Baldwin Technology. In her retirement, she enjoyed many activities, including spending time with her extended family,granddaughters and being involved with the Church of the Archangels, the Church Senior Group and going on many excursions to Mohegan Sun Casino.
Helen is survived by her loving sons, William Aloupis, of New Canaan and Leo Aloupis, of Stamford, two grandchildren Alexandra and Jacqueline Aloupis and many nieces, nephews, both here and in Greece.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Costas Aloupis, a brother Christos Gianouklas and two sisters Sophia Kakaletris and Georgia Agnastopoulos.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM, with a Trisagion service at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street, Stamford at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
