On Sunday, August 30, 2009, Helen Virginia “Heather” Czelada, beloved auntie, daughter, sister and friend, left this Earth for her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born August 13, 1959 in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Eugene and Joyce Czelada. She had just celebrated her 50th birthday.
She moved throughout the East, having roots in Connecticut, North Carolina, New York and Florida. She worked in the food service industry and will be remembered for her quick wit, compassion and generosity towards others, especially children. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sitting in the sun, Italian cooking and creating stained glass pieces. She was active in AA and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Darien and Cary Alliance Church in Cary, North Carolina.
Her true passion in life was surrounding herself with her nieces and nephews. They gave her so much joy, pleasure and strength. She loved them dearly, engrossing herself in their many activities, always being an encouraging presence in their lives.
She is predeceased by her father, Eugene James Czelada, Jr.
She leaves behind her loving mother, Joyce K. Becker and Jim “Poppy” Becker of Cary, NC; her brother, Steve Czelada and his wife Patty of Stamford, CT; Thomas and Miriam Becker presently of Russia; David and Annette Becker of New Jersey; and her loving nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn, Nicole, Jake, Zack and Ryan Czelada and Ross, Anna and Carrie Becker and extended family and friends here and in England.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 3 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 988 Post Road, Darien, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Heather’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
