Helen Santagato
November 27, 1924 — August 13, 2010
Helen M. Santagato, 85 of Bethel, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Danbury Hospital. Born on November 27, 1924 in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Henriatta Maage Burke.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Stamford until moving to Bethel in 1996. She worked at the Colonial Perfume Company in Orange for many years until retiring in 1990.
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Patricia L. Buzzeo and Lisa M. Peters, both of Bethel; her son, Donald W. Santagato of Stamford; and two sisters, Catherine D’Arinzo of Greenwich and Elizabeth Adcock of Darien. Also surviving are three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Santagato, Sr.; her son, Frederick A. Santagato, Jr.; three sisters and two brothers.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue Stamford, CT 06902 at 9:45AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
