Helene Nelson

Helene “Lee” Nelson, 83, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on August 9, 2013. Helene was born January 13, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Sigmund and Stella Blizinski Wichlinski.
Lee worked for over 20 years as a tax preparer for H&R Block and went off on her own as a self-employed tax preparer. She was an art teacher at the Montessori School for many years as well as a member of the Greenwich Women’s Club and also served as a Flower Show Judge for the Pound Ridge Garden Club as well as an avid fisherwoman. Lee originally moved to Stamford with her husband Robert from New York City to open their own dance school under the Arthur Murray dance studio’s name. She touched the lives of so many, helped those in need and was a great person, wife as well as a devoted mother. Lee enjoyed horseback riding and loved to travel. She was granted many awards and also appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. Lee had a wonderful sense of humor and had one of the greatest laughs and was a good hearted soul.
Lee is survived by her loving children; son Paul Nelson and daughter Anne Nelson.
Besides her parents, Lee is predeceased b y her husband Robert R. Nelson.
