Hope Mary Leo, 85, of Stamford, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her beloved nieces and nephews. Born December 19, 1922 in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Giacinto and Rose Bruno Leo.
Hope attended Greenwich High School, Class of 1941. She retired from Electrolux Corporation in 1988.
She is survived by Larry Leo of Ohio; Michael and Marie Leo of Norwalk; Theresa Merritt of Virginia; James Leo of Vermont; Rose Marie (Dolly) Fedeli, with whom she lived in Stamford; and John and Margaret Leo of Tennessee. She is also survived by fifteen nieces and nephews whom she adored immensely. Her sweet ways were always endearing to her nieces and nephews who loved her willingness to go the extra mile.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Clement and Frank in WWII.
Calling hours will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, August 3 from 4:00 6:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Monday, August 4 and proceed to St. Clement Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Greenwich.
