Hubert Agustus Reynolds (Dounie/Tallman), 53, of Stamford, Connecticut, and a longtime resident of Norwalk, Connecticut, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 20, 2020, in hospice care at Stamford Hospital. This happened after he had suffered a cardiac arrest on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020. He was born on Sunday, August 27, 1967, in Kingston, Jamaica W.I., son of the late Stephen Reynolds and Erica Daye.
Hubert was affectionately called “Tallman” because his slim, muscular physique stood at 6 feet, 6 inches. He was a Christian man, a good friend and husband, father, brother, nephew and an uncle who was a victim of mental illness. His quiet, humble, jovial, and peaceful spirit made him likeable and endeared him to people from all walks of life. He enjoyed a good worship service, travelling, farming, meditation and social family gatherings.
In 1991, he migrated from Jamaica to the United States where he worked as a shrewd, clever and prudent self-employed businessman who was able to understand and judge a situation quickly and use this understanding to his own advantage. Dounie later met and fell in love with Sheryl Eunice Scott in 1994 while they were living in Norwalk, Connecticut, and she became his wife and the mother of his children. They got married in 1997 and remarried in 2003 after a brief separation. The union produced their two beautiful daughters, Victoria-Elizabeth Reynolds (20) who was born in 2000, and Olivia-Grace Reynolds (14) who was born in 2006.
Hubert leaves to share his memory, the entire Daye family, the Reynolds family and friends. Also sharing his memory are his beloved children: Victoria-Elizabeth, (Daryus Jackson) and Olivia-Grace; the mother of his children, Sheryl Eunice Scott of Waterbury, Connecticut; his beloved sister-in-law Laurette Vereen; his dear brothers, Ian Gardener (Laurette Vereen), Derrick Gardener of Norwalk, Connecticut, Garfield Gardener and Donald Gayle of Manchester, Jamaica, W.I.; his dearly beloved sister Susan Reynolds, of Bronx, New York; his Aunts Hyacinth Daye, and Mary Daye of Manchester, Jamaica; Mulvina Daye of Bridgeport, Connecticut; Josephine Morris (Aldon Morris) of Stratford, Connecticut; Winnifred (Reynolds) Hemans of Fort Myers, FL; beloved cousins: Lorna Dickenson, Nicky Morris, Petrona Nelson (Walter Nelson), Curdel (Palmer) Grant, Monique Palmer, Owen Palmer, Michael Reid, Karleen Scott and Orett Scott; his uncle, Ashbourne Daye of Bridgeport, Connecticut; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends living in Jamaica, W.I. and the United States. Dounie is unforgettable and will forever be lovingly held in our hearts.
Besides his parents, Dounie is predeceased by his brothers Phillip Reynolds and Milton Reynolds.
