Ida Aurello, 91, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Daughter of the late Generoso and Esterina Giordano Iannotta, Ida was born on August 26, 1933, in San Vincenzo, Calabria, Italy.
In her earlier years Ida supported her family working as a seamstress and later as a Central Supply Technician for St. Joseph’s Hospital. Ida was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Church of Stamford where she also served as a member of the Rosary Society. Ida had many joys among them were cooking, sewing, gardening , love of flowers, and her religious TV programs. In her younger years Ida greatly enjoyed traveling with her friends. Above all Ida’s most important element of her life was her family, she loved and cared for everyone.
Ida is survived by her loving children, son, John Aurello (Patricia) of Stamford and her daughter Natalie Aurello Gutkin (Scott) of Trumbull. Her brother Beniamino Iannotta of Monroe, along with several very close nieces and nephews. Ida is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Breanne Restivo (Jamie), Kyle Aurello, Stephanie Gutkin (Brent), Jacqueline Pervez (Divan) and a great grandson Alessio Pervez.
esides her parents Ida was predeceased by her beloved husband Ugo Aurello, her brother Rodolfo Iannotta, her sister Sara Iannotta, her sister-in-laws, Ilda Iannotta, Gail Iannotta and Vienna Aurello, also a brother-in-law Marcello Aurello.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 10:00AM. A procession will follow mass to St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT where an interment and committal service will be held. There will be no calling hours.
