Mr. Ilias Athanasoulias, age 67 of Stamford, CT, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Stamford Hospital. Born on July 16, 1942 in Greece, he was the son of the late John and Giannoula Strategaki Athanasoulias.
Ilias worked for Pitney Bowes for over 10 years. Ilias exited the workplace in 2002
He is survived by his wife and two children, Panagiota Arianas Athanasoulias of Stamford; daughter, Jenny Giotsalite and her husband Petros of Greece and their two children; son John Athanasoulias of Stamford; sister Maria Tzanetaki of Greece; two brothers, Theodore Athanasoulias and his wife Libby as well as Stratis Athanasoulias and his wife Venetia, all of Stamford.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 10:15AM on Monday, March 8, 2010 for a Funeral Service at 11:00AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905, with Reverend Constantine Mathews officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM with a Trisagian Service beginning at 7:00PM.
