Irene McConnell, 90, of Greenwich Woods, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Born on September 24, 1919 in Byram, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susie Kuhchak Hyl.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Marlene G. Rhome of Stamford, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband, Willard J. McConnell; her son, Lloyd H. Oliver; her daughter, Linda Delgado; her brother, Joseph Hyl; and her three sisters Margaret Lutz, Susie Hyl and Olga Hyl.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 10:00AM at Mount Calvary Cemetery, West Hillside Avenue, White Plains, New York.
The family requests memorial donations to be made in Irene’s name to the Alzheimer Association, Connecticut Chapter, 279 New Britain Road, Suite 5, Kensington, Connecticut 06897.
The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut 06902, is in charge of arrangements.
